ಗೌಪ್ಯತಾ ನೀತಿ

This policy explains how [Registered business name] ("VedicConnect", "we") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use our website and services. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

1. Data we collect

• Account details: your name and email address from Google when you sign in with Google.
• Birth details: full name, date, time and place of birth, which astrology needs. You give these when you create your profile, ask a question or make a Kundali.
• Your questions and our answers, including the topic and the language you choose.
• Phone number, when you book a phone consultation, so the astrologer can call you.
• Address and event details, when you request a quotation for a puja or ceremony at your place: city, full address, pincode, date and what the ceremony involves.
• Payment details: payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the payment status, amount and a reference; we never see or store your card, UPI PIN or bank login.
• Technical data: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, a cookie that remembers your language, and server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) used for security and to fix problems. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. Why we use it

• To provide the services you ask for: answering your questions, calculating charts, arranging consultations and delivering reports.
• To process payments and refunds, and to keep the financial records the law requires.
• To send you service messages, such as "your answer is ready" or booking updates.
• To keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and resolve complaints.

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you sign up and use a service, and where the law otherwise allows. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 6); this won't affect what was done before.

3. Who can see it

• The astrologer handling your request sees your question and birth details, for a consultation your phone number, and for an accepted puja quotation your address and phone number, only while the booking or ceremony is active. While a puja request is open, our Head Astrologers can see your phone number to call you with questions before quoting; your address reaches only the astrologer whose quotation you accept. Our Main Master, who runs the platform, can also see these details to oversee requests and resolve problems. Astrologers may not use your data for anything else.
• Our service providers, who process data only on our instructions: Google (sign-in), Razorpay (payments), our hosting provider and our email provider.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

We don't sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

4. How we protect it

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your saved birth profile and the phone numbers you give us are encrypted in our database, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it for your request. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require (generally eight years). When you delete your account we erase or anonymise the rest, unless the law requires us to keep it.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you, and raise a grievance. Email us using the details below; we'll respond within the time the law sets. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

7. Children

Our services are for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We'll post any change to this policy on this page with a new date, and tell you by email if the change is significant.
